New Beginnings Youth Center

Cambridge, Maryland

New Beginnings received Community Investment Tax Credits which are being used to raise funds to support mentoring, tutoring and after-school programs for at-risk youth within the Bay Country Apartments community and nearby low-income neighborhoods. Activities focus on crime prevention, social skills, character building and academics. The Center works in conjunction with local schools, youth associations, the local YMCA, the police department and the Character Counts! program. Additionally, parents receive instruction on parenting skills, job training, computer training and health services.
